When you sign up, you give us:
·mobile phone number, for sending the daily habit messages
·email address, for the monthly ledger, account recovery, and important account notices
·
the name, time, and cue of each habit you want to keep
·
your replies to our messages (Y, N, ?, and the command words)
We also automatically collect:
·
standard web server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) when you visit the marketing site or the account page
·
delivery metadata from our SMS provider (sent, delivered, failed) so we know whether a message reached you
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies on the
marketing site beyond what is needed for basic analytics.

We use the information above only to:

send you the habit messages you asked for, at the times you chose

count your streaks and ledger
·
reply when you send commands
·
send the monthly ledger to your email
·
send account-related email (sign-in links, billing if applicable, service notices)

diagnose delivery problems and improve the service
·
comply with the law when required
We do not use your data to train models, profile you for advertising,
or build a marketing audience.

We share data only with the service providers we use to actually run
Small Habits, and only as much as they need to do their job. Today that
includes:

our SMS provider (to send and receive the text messages)
·
our email provider (to send the ledger and account email)
·
our hosting and database provider (to store your account)
·
our payment processor, if you are a paying customer
Each of these providers is bound by confidentiality and may only use the
data to provide their service to us.
We do not share or sell mobile information — including phone numbers,
opt-in consent, or SMS conversation content — with any third parties or
affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. The only
sharing of SMS-related data is with the subprocessors above, strictly to
deliver the messages you signed up for.

how long we keep ithow long we keep it
·Active account: as long as your account is active.
·After you delete your account or reply STOP: we keep a minimal record (your number, the date you opted out, and a hash of your account) for compliance with carrier and TCPA rules. We delete everything else within 30 days.
·Backups: may persist for up to 90 days before they roll off.

access is limited to the people who need it to run the service

we don't ask for a password — sign-in is by phone and emailed magic link
No system is perfect. If we ever have a breach affecting your data, we
will tell you.

You can, at any time:

read all of your data, by replying LEDGER to a Small Habits message or by visiting your account page
·
correct your data, by editing your account or by replying SWAP / TIME
·
delete your account, which deletes all your data except the minimal opt-out record above
·
opt out of messages, by replying STOP
If you live in a jurisdiction with additional privacy rights (California,
the EU, the UK, and similar), you also have the right to request a copy
of your data, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to lodge a complaint
with your local data protection authority. Email

childrenchildren
Small Habits is not directed to people under 18. We do not knowingly
collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we delete it.
